Unless your small group is full of Scrooges, a good prank or two creates memories that will endear group members to one another for a lifetime. Below you’ll find five pranks that might be a ton of fun. Be careful, some people just don’t have a healthy sense of humor.
1. At your last meeting before Christmas give each group member a gift… a picture of the group. The “prank” part… use a computer program that will allow you to put the heads of each group member on some other group member’s body.
2. Mail each group member a gag gift. Send a very touching note that would lead the receiver of the gift to believe that the sender really thought they’d sent a very special gift. The “prank” part… sign the note with the name of someone else in the group and make the return name and address that same person. At the next meeting use the following question as your crowd-breaker, “What did you receive in the mail this week that really touched your heart? What was it? Who was it from?”
3. Get group members to help you tee-pee the home of the group apprentice. At the next group meeting open by asking the apprentice to share the most interesting thing that happened at his or her home this week.
4. Give each group member a gift at the last small group meeting prior to Christmas, a ball cap with the name of one of the twelve dwarfs from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on it. Each person should receive the cap that best describes the group member receiving the cap. If you have more than seven group members that’s even better. Make up representative names for the rest of the group members.
