It tells the small group leader specifically how to minister to group members during a time of illness and how to do hospital visitation, what to do when a group member is going through crisis (even how to recognize and respond when someone discloses abuse), how to minister to those who are dealing with death, divorce, addiction, and domestic violence. And if you want your groups to be missional, it would be very helpful if the small group leader had a copy of
101 Ways to Reach Your Community by Steve Sjogren. In it they’ll find 101 very practical ideas for being Jesus to the community. These are just two of many great books for small group leaders.
It would be wise to consider the strengths and weaknesses of each small group leader and give he or she copies of the books that will help them become more effective leaders.
