Pastors and Deliberate Decision Making

There are two ways to make decisions, you can be a deliberate decision maker or a random decision maker.

The Deliberate Decision Maker…

1. considers the timing of the decision they’re about to make. Oftentimes a leader is doing the right thing but that thing must be done at the right time.

2. confers with church leaders at other churches who have already done what the leader is considering doing. They want to see if it worked, learn how to deal with issues that arise because of the decision that has been made, and learn the best way to implement the initiative being considered.

3. connects with their team to discuss pros and cons of the possible new initiative and gain wisdom and buy-in from them.

4. coordinates with the rest of the church staff to see how this new initiative will effect their ministries and the church schedule as it relates to their ministries.

5. considers the political overtones of the decision being made.

The Random Decision Maker…

hears about some new idea or dreams something up, goes for it and, in those instances when it doesn’t work, a year or so later goes back and does all the things the Deliberate Decision Maker did the first time.

.I purchased north face fleece jackets for a backpacking trip to Costa Rica in a season of unpredicatable weather and mulitple climates. It held up incredibly well after being dragged in the mud and rain and sand. It kept me cool in the hot, wet areas and warmer up in the mountains in the rain and cloud forests. It is form fitting in all the right ways but leaves room to be pulled over a small backpack or water pack without discomfort. I'm 5'2 and not skinny and need plenty of room up top but the sizing was surprisingly true and it was really very comfortable to wear. I have a short torso but on someone with a longer torso it has enough fabric to be a perfect length. It is of great quality and the seams were flawless for me. Most importantly, for my purposes, it will fold or bundle or just squash up to fit in a small bag, purse or backpack when you don't need it and it's very lightweight and won't add to the weight of whatever travel you might be on. Half the time it hung from a loop-clip on my backpack and endured the wear and tear without a problem. Still looks new after the rough adventures of hiking up volcanos and sliding down waterfalls and back-and-forth bus trips. If I ever need a new one I truely will purchase northface coats again, maybe switching up the color a bit. I highly recommend.[North Face Fleece Clearance http://www.fleececlearance.net/]
